"There are protests occurring in the center of Chiang Mai near Chaang Phueak (albino elephant) gate on the north side of the moat, with the potential to expand to other areas near the moat, including Thaa Phae (raft dock/pier) Gate (east side). Protesters are confronting Thai police and military forces in those locations.” The moat is a rectangle around the old city (700 yr) in the central part of CM. The city spreads out for miles and miles in all directions. So, not many people are affected at this point. I am to the North of the Albino Elephant Gate and further from Chaang Phueak. Most of CM province sympathizes with the elected, but ousted government. I don’t take sides. There is corruption in every government and every political party in the world. We need to pray some good folk into some of them.
Thanks for praying for Khru (teacher) Pleum. In this morning’s Sunday School, she had a very good illustration of the pillar of fire God gave as protection for the Israelites at night. When she was in college, she had to ride her motorcycle quite a way to get home at night. One night when it was raining, she couldn’t see a thing and was frightened. So she prayed. Then all of a sudden there was a brightness/light just in the space where she needed to travel and nowhere else until she was home safely.
Thanks too for praying for E-Q. Since he was a year older than any of the others, he decided he wanted to go into the main worship service during preaching. He feels “save” sitting with his aunt and uncle, I think. His father abandoned him. He did come play a game with us and read books until the Adult SS was over. Now we have a new boy that is a disturber. I think he is Akha, but have not asked. His name is Peace. But he is anything but peaceful. I think he has no experience or background in the city or in a church. He is in the church hostel in order to go to school. That means he is from the mountains. There are several more new ones who have not had Sunday School experience. We are so glad that they will now have it, but please pray that they will learn and adapt quickly. Out youngest, just starting 1st grade 2 weeks ago, is trying to prove himself and likes to pick fights. His is named Pha Ong. I do not yet know what it means as it is a Rawang name. Note: Thai schools open in mid May until March.
May the seas in your life be parted and any evil horses and riders that are chasing you fall into the sea,
